True gratitude

Today, of all days in a year, is a day to pause and truly reflect on our attitude of gratitude. I believe Father God spoke to my spirit saying, “true gratitude is not just a feeling of being thankful, true gratitude is being content in the right now without any expectation of the future or crippling bondage of the past.” In a world that seems to use God as if He was a genie in a bottle, always ready to grant our next wish or fix our next problem, I wonder if God feels taken for granted.

As He consistently pursues our hearts, forgives our selfishness, listens to our prayers, catches all our tears, and longs for us to just notice. We get wrapped up in the world, chasing something to fill that void only He can fill. Today though, as it is after all Thanksgiving, maybe today is the day we will truly pause, reflect, and take notice of the Majesty, Power, Mercy, Goodness, Patience, Gentleness, Kindness, Love, Forgiveness, and Steadfastness of Almighty God.

Today I choose not to act like a spoiled daughter of the King, instead being a humble servant as I lay down my crown and choose to acknowledge Father God’s provisions and blessings bestowed upon me. I choose to rise up from the desert wilderness of complaint and instead be watchful of His work and speak out His Goodness as I see Him turn my ugly into beauty, my curse into blessing, my sorrow into Joy, my broken into masterpiece, and my hate into Jesus kind of love.

Oh what an Awesome God we serve!

Father God loves us so much that He gave His only Begotten Son that whosoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life- John 3:16.

Today as we enjoy the turkey dinner, friends and family, even those of us who may not have family or friends or turkey dinner might find the blessing in our storms, circumstances, chaos or troubles and may we choose to speak out so the world can know just how grateful we are to serve a truly Good, Loving, Compassionate God, Who didn’t even withhold His most precious Son from us, but instead sacrificed Him so we too can be called the children of God.

Praise God!

Thank you Father God for Your Goodness, Mercy and Love, thank You for pursuing even someone so undeserving  as me..

Until next time may God bless you and keep you as you seek Him with your whole heart.

World’s greater reason

The Greater Reason

The world only knows madness
Peace we’ve never found
We have war plague and famine
Still no trumpet sound
The children only suffer
While most go to their grave
The women cant stoop crying
The men try to be brave
Some father’s beat their children
They turn black and blue
The damage lasts a lifetime
For their hearts been broke in two
Lots of people doing drugs
Until the hit rock bottom
For good and bad, right and wrong
Maybe nobody really taught them
Men are raping women
Women cry out in pain
There is murder, even suicide
And the mentally insane
Millions of people in this world
But everyone seems so lonely
From the abuse of human life
The earth is dying slowly
Most of us huddled in a corner
Shivering with fright
We cant come out
For we don’t know
Who death will take tonight
We want to survive
Just one more day
Our hope is the world
Will change in some way
We’ve tried to control
Our struggles and strife
But in the end
There is a greater reason to life

Time is short, Jesus is coming

I warn you now, this is not a feel good, sunshine and daisies kind of message. I’m no longer in the business of stroking egos and silencing the hard stuff so we can go blindly down our destructive paths. Time isn’t short friends, time is at hand! We are out of time so the truth no matter how painfully ugly, needs to be addressed now, not later, ready or not. The choice to hear it or not and the choice to accept it or not, well, that choice is yours. Trust me friends, I to am in dire need of the truth before it’s too late. I to have chose rose colored glasses pushing the cold hard truth aside into the I’ll get to it later pile. Later has arrived and just in the nick of time too.
People! Get right with God! There are no more reasons, no more excuses and no more pretense of ignorance. Jesus is coming for his bride, His church. There’s no time left. Listen! Stop and listen! You know the truth, at this very moment you hear it, or feel it. If we allow ourselves to hesitate, we open ourselves up for the devil’s lies to take root in our mind and heart. He is on the warpath, he has accelerated his speed and disguised himself as an angel of light. If we are not grounded in the word and equipped with the full body armor of Christ we will be deceived.
Ignorant humans! That’s what they; the devil, demons and fallen angels call us you know! Ignorant humans, so easily manipulated, so eager to believe anything that seems to justify their human nature and rebellion against God Almighty. They’ll believe anything. They’d rather be blind and powerless against us than to get scared by warnings about us. And just a simple stroke to their ego and they practically pave their own road to hell. This is one of the ways in which they, the devil, demons and fallen angels think of us. They hate us with a hate we can’t even comprehend. Even the tiniest shred of compassion or love, any kind of empathy towards mankind, they are completely void of. They want to see extreme suffering and pain in us at their hands. That is their form of “happy,” to inflict the worst imaginable pain upon us slowly, to get the full benefit of watching us suffer. They are real and they will stop at nothing to take us down. Revelation 12:12 For this reason, rejoice, O heavens and you who dwell in them. Woe to the earth and the sea, because the devil has come down to you, having great wrath, knowing that he has only a short time.
Listen! The devil knows his fate is sealed. His goal is to spite God and sneak in attempting to take us, beloved of God, with him to share his fate. His plan is to cause as many of us as he can to harden our hearts and minds against God. He is the master of deception and lies, he manipulates our minds twisting and confusing right and wrong. He will give us all kinds of false evidence of our goodness and our righteousness apart from God. He will manipulate our emotions with signs of peace, equality and fairness for the entire world. He will turn us all against one another with his mind games, tricks and lies. All the signs and wonders he will perform will cause millions, maybe even billions of people to believe themselves as good. It won’t last because it is all lies and deceit from the master of deception, who has absolutely no authority to make such promises. He did not create this world or anything in it. He has no right or authority, still sadly most will believe his lies and follow him, assuredly sealing their fate as equal to his.
Please hear the truth! None of us are good not even one human being in the whole world. Mark 10:18 And Jesus said to him, “Why do you call Me good? No one is good except God alone. We all sin against God and choose to ignore His commandments. We chose to have control, to be gods, of our own lives even after seeing the destruction and devastation we leave in the wake of our arrogant, self-righteous, and, egotistical, prideful, boasting and self-centered ways of ruling our own little worlds. We cause pain, shame and destruction yet instead of feeling remorse, we pass the blame onto someone else. Sometimes we even blame God for our foolishness. The truth is we seemingly like to go around with our false sense of authority, never really taking the time to get to know God, then we pass on our misguided assumptions of His truth about right and wrong. We have grown thick, deep, roots of lies within our hearts. Roots so deep we fully believe them to be truth. So strong is our belief, that we violently and ruthlessly battle against anyone or anything that may try to prove an error in our way of thinking or that try to breakdown our walls of illusion we so blindly and recklessly grew comfortably accustomed to.
Revelation 3:19 Those whom I love, I reprove and discipline; therefore be zealous and repent.
I tell you the truth, if you are not over your head in struggle, hurt, pain and persecution then you’re not growing character and fruit. Pluck out the deceptive root of self righteousness and pride, understand true wisdom is in the one who is eagerly inviting self discipline and reproach. The one who knows those are the tools that bring forth enlightenment and change into our minds and hearts. Proverbs 12:1 Whoever loves discipline loves knowledge, But he who hates reproof is stupid. God is not in the business of self made martyrdom brought on mostly by the need to be accepted and a lack of faith in God. Also brought on by the spiritually lazy. Those who turn away from discipline and reproach. Those who believe themselves to be good or good enough. Those whose hearts are more about the respect and admiration of mankind than of accepting and understanding their true carnal nature. They become well versed in the ways of manipulation, praying on the empathy and hearts of those who are genuine and caring. It works so well for them at first, then once God enlightens their victims of the truth, they don’t understand why they are left behind. Why no one falls for their trickery. The same deception they themselves have decided to believe and even manifest into their own minds and hearts. They believe themselves to be martyrs and so they rebel against authority, against discipline, self control and against the truth. Their prayers are muddled with lies thinking to deceive God Himself by going on and on about their sorrows just trying to convince God of how bad it really is for them and why they deserve special attention from Him.
They see themselves as righteous as they’re taking on an attribute they have not suffered to obtain rightfully. Instead deciding they are what they are not. It is clear and evident to those who put their trust and faith in God because he reveals their true natures to those who walk in His righteousness through the accepting of Christ Jesus as Lord and Savior.
The righteousness of Christ does not need to proclaim itself for it cannot be denied. The actions of those operating in the righteousness of Christ speak for themselves.
The self righteous however, will endlessly talk of their good works and their importance. They talk of their self proclaimed selflessness, yet make their demands in the same breath. The question is always, what’s in it for them. They will go out of their way so long as they get something in return. They are always talking of fairness and equality, yet they live as though, they themselves, are above such. They mistake someone unwilling to dance on the devil’s playground by continuing to argue, as proof that they win or that they are right. They lack true wisdom and understanding obtained from the Holy Spirit for they grieve the Holy Spirit.
We need to search our hearts and hold every thought captive to the knowledge of Christ. We are out of time! Just as it is written, “Search me, O God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts. See if there is any offensive way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.” Psalms 139:23-24 we too must wholeheartedly cry out to Father God, repentant and truly seeking His right way to be manifest within us.
Then we should anticipate the troubles, hardships, burdens and flesh starving meant to give us opportunity to practice Christ-like behavior. By practice of Christ-like behavior while confronted with hardships and struggles, we gain character, wisdom and fruit (aka attributes) of His Spirit. His promise to us is peace through the struggle.
John 16:33 I have told you all this so that you may have peace in me. Here on earth you will have many trials and sorrows. But take heart, because I have overcome the world.”
Philippians 4:6-7 Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus.
Romans 5:3-4 We can rejoice, too, when we run into problems and trials, for we know that they help us develop endurance. And endurance develops strength of character, and character strengthens our confident hope of salvation.
Friends expect trials struggles and troubles to come against you regularly. Refuse becoming victim of an anxious, worried, emotional response. Surrender every situation over to Jesus. In return He will bless you with the peace that passes understanding in every circumstance and situation and through every trial.
Put on the full armor of God, read your Bible in an effort to get to know God personally, pray for Him to renew your mind and heart to fit his purpose and plans and follow through as He guides the way.

We Are Running Out of Time

Do you read your bible everyday?
When your happy or sad, do you pray
Do you believe Jesus died for you?
Everything the bible says, do you believe is true?
Are you trying to follow Jesus’ path?
Do you believe your free from God’s wrath?
To the world did you die,
Through Jesus born again?
Do you acknowledge, and repent from all your sins?
Are you ready for Jesus to come?
Were running out of time.
Please search your heart again,
Will you be left behind?

Until next time may God bless you and keep you as you seek Him with your whole heart.

Finding the narrow way

Narrow leads to life

Matthew 7:13-14 Enter through the narrow gate; for the gate is wide and the way is broad that leads to destruction, and there are many who enter through it. For the gate is small and the way is narrow that leads to life, and there are few who find it.

What is it about the narrow way that allows it to hide so well? What causes some to be able to draw it out from its seeker elusive, most brilliant hiding place but for the majority of people it won’t budge an inch?

Could it be that we are looking in the wrong direction? Where can I look to find this narrow way? How do I coax it out of hiding?

Matthew 7:3-5 Jesus asks, “why do you look at the speck that is in your brothers eye, but do not notice the log that is in your own eye? Or how can you say to your brother, ‘let me take the speck out of your eye’, and behold, the log is in your own eye? You hypocrite, first take the log out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to take the speck out of your brothers eye.

We seem to be looking from the inside out. From this position we see so clearly when others make mistakes or when they might be doing something wrong. But to see ourselves and what we may be doing wrong is quite difficult. That’s not to say we think we are perfect, on the contrary, we may be first to admit we are flawed beings. It’s just our views, at the inside looking out angle, make it difficult to truly see ourselves currently. Even though our desire is to be non-judgmental, we could easily be coming across that way to others and not know it.

In order to truly see ourselves, we have a much better chance looking from the outside in. From this vantage point we see little of what flaws those around us may have, and those in which we do see, we are not as likely to point them out. Instead we empathize and communicate understanding, knowing we too are flawed. This vantage point allows us to see clearly our own flaws and opens the door to the opportunity for us to work on ourselves.

Luke 10:38-42 Now as they were traveling along, He entered a village; and a woman named Martha welcomed Him into her home. She had a sister called Mary, who was seated at the Lord’s feet, listening to His word. But Martha was distracted with all her preparations; and she came up to Him and said, “Lord, do You not care that my sister has left me to do all the serving alone? Then tell her to help me.” But the Lord answered and said to her, “Martha, Martha, you are worried and bothered about so many things; but only one thing is necessary, for Mary has chosen the good part, which shall not be taken away from her.”

He didn’t seem to tell Martha that she was wrong in her desire to serve, just that her anxiousness caused her to get upset with Mary. She wanted Mary to be like herself, in effect to ease her own anxiety and work load that she put upon herself. Because Mary didn’t notice the stress and anxiousness she was feeling while trying to do what she felt was right, it made her angry. Mary on the other hand, oblivious to Martha’s frantic state, was doing what came natural to herself. Jesus came to their home and was speaking. She couldn’t let such an opportunity pass by. She sat down at His feet taking in His every word.

Two very different personalities, perspectives, expectations, and two very different ideas on what should be done with Jesus as guest in their home. One was set on serving, making everything perfect and comfortable for their guests and the other set on learning, taking in all she could from listening to Him teach.

Both sisters did what they felt was right, neither was completely wrong. Yet Martha believing her way was the only right way, and I’m sure most of society in that day would no doubt agree with her, decided to allow her emotions to feed into her self-pity until she couldn’t take it anymore. She then, in an effort to have Mary rebuked by Jesus Himself for leaving her to do all the work, went to Jesus about it.

Martha was right to want to serve and it seems that’s what came naturally to her when she had guests. She probably knew exactly what to do to make her guests feel right at home. The problem was in her assuming that Mary should think and be just like her. Because she thought in this way she felt entitled to her self-pity and anger toward Mary.

A mistake so many of us make almost daily. It’s easy to think everyone thinks, feels and acts the same way we do. And it causes so much confusion when it doesn’t work out that way. We get frustrated with those who don’t think like us, have the same work ethic, like the same things, have the same common sense, keep the same schedule, clean house the same, drive the same, believe the same, have similar goals, etc. Etc.

I believe Father God spoke to my Spirit saying, “From the beginning of time I have created every single human being so uniquely different. No two humans have ever been the same, each having something unique to offer the world. Now look at them all trying to fit themselves together into ten different categories.”

Isn’t that the truth? Doctors act like doctors, lawyers like lawyers, teachers like teachers, soccer mom’s like soccer mom’s, athlete’s like athlete’s, wealthy like wealthy, blue collar like blue collar, white collar like white collar, etc. Not that any group can’t socialize with the others, just in order to be accepted by a group, to be part of them, there is some kind of unspoken code of ethics the acceptable adhere to and live by. Even if we don’t agree with the “code” we tend to put on a good face in an effort to be accepted. This happens in every walk of life and at every age level too. We all learn how to pretend to be what we believe others want or expect us to be, so we can avoid rejection and fit in with everyone else.

We are busy trying to fit in while Father God is trying to show us how to stand out!

The trap we can often fall into as we are trying so hard to live up to the acceptable standard is becoming critical, gossipy, unaccepting, judgmental, harsh and rejecting of others. Especially with those who just might not make the cut. Or worse with those who might make the cut so much better than ourselves we risk loosing our status we worked so hard to achieve.

Ephesians 5:4 and there must be no filthiness and silly talk, or coarse jesting, which are not fitting, but rather giving of thanks.

Ephesians 4:31-32 Let all bitterness and wrath and anger and clamor and slander be put away from you, along with all malice 3. Be kind to one another, tender-hearted, forgiving each other, just as God in Christ also has forgiven you.

Philippians 2:3-4 Do nothing from selfishness or empty conceit, but with humility of mind regard one another as more important than yourselves; do not merely look out for your own personal interests, but also for the interests of others.

The truth is, so long as we are going through life trying to please ourselves and others we are walking the road in which the narrow way, the narrow gate remains hidden. Seeking our own desires to include being accepted by others, thus people pleasing can be a overwhelming, exhausting, extremely time consuming endeavor leaving little to no time for seeking God’s Kingdom and Righteousness. Matthew 6:33 But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.

The inside looking out perspective runs a high risk of never finding the narrow way or the narrow gate Jesus spoke of.

We are to seek His way, His will, His knowledge, His purpose, His mercy, His salvation and understand that nothing we have done allows for us to be deserving of the grace He freely gives. Because of this we align our hearts to His Spirit ever praising and thankful.

Looking from the outside in, taking every opportunity to become more Christ-like by “dying to self” then becomes the beacon or call to the narrow way, the narrow gate, to come out of hiding and thus show itself to us, so we can then travel on it.

Ephesians 4:22-24 that, in reference to your former manner of life, you lay aside the old self, which is being corrupted in accordance with the lusts of deceit, and that you be renewed in the spirit of your mind, and put on the new self, which in the likeness of God has been created in righteousness and holiness of the truth.

Romans 12:1-2 Therefore I urge you, brethren, by the mercies of God, to look of worship. And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect.

Then from the outside looking in vantage point, we become for each other, only encouraging, uplifting, and kind. Ephesians 4:29 Let no unwholesome word proceed from your mouth, but only such a word as is good for edification according to the need of the moment, so that it will give grace to those who hear.

Ephesians 5:19-21 speaking to one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody with your heart to the Lord; always giving thanks for all things in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ to God, even the Father; and be subject to one another in the fear of Christ.

If I am to find the narrow way, the narrow gate that Jesus speaks of and avoid the wide gate, the broad way, it seems I must stop looking from the inside out and start looking from the outside in.

Philippians 4:8 Finally, brethren, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is of good repute, if there is any excellence and if anything worthy of praise, dwell on these things.

I’m going home
I’m going home
I will not worry
Whatever comes my way
I’m going home
When Jesus comes
Oh what a glorious day
I’m going home
And with each step
I’m closer to the Lord
I’m going home
For all my life
He’s been my shield and sword
I’m going home
To see the love
That lasts eternally
There is plenty of room
On this narrow road
Will you come home with me

Until next time, may God bless you and keep you as you seek Him with all your heart.

My child

You did not earn my Grace by being kind, you didn’t gain it by feeding the orphans and the poor.
It’s not yours for keeping my commandments or preaching my word going door to door.
You acquired it not by loyal Church attendance, teaching Sunday school or joining the choir.
It’s not yours for your large donations, for volunteering or when your prayers last more than an hour.
You didn’t obtain it by tending to the sick, for visiting a widow, or those in prison who have not a friend.
You have not achieved it by good behavior, overcoming addiction, or by taking blame for conflict to end.
It’s not yours for bearing the Fruit of My Spirit, or leading lost sheep to find their way home.
Not even for long hours behind a pulpit, as countless people gather around.
You didn’t receive it by healing the sick, casting out demons, or prophesying in My name.
Not by writing a book, singing ole hymns, nor giving away all your fortune and fame.
No you’ve gained it not by what you’ve done or anything you’re going to do.
My child, My Grace has always been, My free gift I bestowed upon you.
