Why rest in broken

Why do we rest in our broken? It’s like we are searching for all the pieces and we can’t move on until we have them. If we move on without them we won’t be whole. So we stay stuck in broken. We cling to our pain and take pride in our scars. We allow our broken to define us. We accept what hurts us as the necessary obstacles, molding and shaping who we are and who we will become.

We rest in our broken, yet we get no rest.

What causes us to accept such a fate and call it our own? What kind of logic says broken is the truth? Where else in life do we see broken as wise, courageous, and acceptable?

Do we keep the broken teacup, giving it a place of honor upon the shelf? Do we keep a broken television, on display mounted on our wall? Do we raise our children to keep the broken toys in their room? What do we do with things that break in our lives?

Mostly, we throw them out, so why do we rest in our broken?

Forget finding all the pieces!  Get up and move on! Those pieces belong to our counterfeit life, our counterfeit reality. Our true self, our true reality, is unbreakable.

Don’t rest in broken. It’s a lie. Throw it out, like all the other things that break throughout our lives. Refused to hold on to it. Don’t give the missing pieces even a second thought because resting in broken guarantees you never become unbreakable.

John 10:10 KJV — The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.

Isaiah 53:5 KJV — But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.

UNBREAKABLE !

Until next time, may God bless you and keep you as you seek Him with your whole heart.
